Freakshow Polish: Snake Lady

Sorry it's been awhile, but I've been pretty busy with classes. The polish I'll be discussing in this post is an untried that I've had for some time and that I had been wanting to try but didn't get to until now. I must say.. I don't know why it took so long!

Snake Lady by Freak Show Polish

Snake Lady is a glitter topper with medium brown and black hexes, larger white hexes, and small black and gold glitters throughout. I swatched FSP's Cotton Candy on IG (here), and I found the formula from that glitter topper to be amazing! Snake Lady is no different. Prior to application, I did shake the bottle a bit to redistribute the larger white hexes. Application was easy, and the glitters spread nice and evenly throughout the nail. The swatch below is ~1 coat of Snake Lady (I say ~1 because there were some, very small, empty patches and a little glitter was added to those areas). I didn't experience glitter curling, and for a glitter topper, it dried fairly smooth. All in all, this polish looks amazing. The color combo in the following swatch gave me a "snake in the grass" sort of vibe:

Sindie POP! Lacquer: Velvet Darkness & Golden Raspberries

The following 2 polishes had been on my wish list since I saw them on Yvonne (@lafemmelulu on IG), and I'm so excited to finally have them:

First up is Velvet Darkness:

Velvet Darkness by Sindie POP! Lacquer

Velvet Darkness is a deep purple jelly filled with medium, deep red and lavender hexes and silver holo micro-glitters throughout. Each coat of this polish was just a glitter bomb. I would've been able to get away with probably one coat, but I actually have bigger nails than most so I needed that extra half of a coat. I thought the glitters would stand out in a black base so I decided to layer this over OPI Black Onyx:

Golden Raspberries by Sindie POP! Lacquer

Golden Raspberries is a beautiful raspberry jelly filled with various sizes of gold glitter, from medium gold hexes to gold micro glitters throughout. This could be built up on its own or over another shade. I actually used this over one of my It Girl colors from my February Julep Maven box, and it looked great! The following swatches shows Golden Raspberries on its own:

Here's the swatch of Golden Raspberries over 2 coats of Julep Joan. You can see the darker hue, and the contrast of the golden glitters is just gorgeous:

Sindie POP! Lacquer: Roger That! & I'm Just Drawn Bad

I have a Sindie POP! Lacquer duo for you today, inspired by Roger and Jessica Rabbit!

First up is Roger That!:

Roger That! by Sindie POP! Lacquer

Roger That! is inspired by Roger Rabbit himself (obviously!). This glitter topper is loaded with medium blue and red hexes and small gold and pale pink hexes in a clear base. Since the color scheme of this topper was based on Roger Rabbit's outfit, I thought it would look great over his hair color so I decided to layer this over a couple shades of orange. I used Roger That! over Sephora by OPI Your Lioness (middle/ring) and Once a Cheetah, Always a Cheetah (index/pinky):

Next up is I'm Just Drawn Bad, inspired by Jessica Rabbit:

I'm Just Drawn Bad by Sindie POP! Lacquer

I'm Just Drawn Bad is inspired by Jessica Rabbit's dress and classic red lips. This polish contains medium red and purple hexes and small pink hexes in such a pretty warm purple (berry colored in some settings) jelly base. I've been loving glitter containing jelly polishes lately, and I decided to use this baby alone to show the awesome qualities jellies have. Like the other polishes that I have tried from Sindie POP!, the formula on this was just as great. The glitters spread evenly, and there was very little effort involved in getting these glitters out of the bottle. The following swatches shows I'm Just Drawn Bad alone in 3 thin coats:

Sindie POP! Lacquer: Mrs. Mouse

I bring you another beauty from Sindie POP! Lacquer permanent line:

Mrs. Mouse by Sindie POP! Lacquer

Mrs. Mouse is a creamy dusty pink based polish that contains various sizes of periwinkle blue and pink glitters throughout. Formula wise, this beauty was just like it's other Disney counterpart, Mr. Duck. This can be used alone in about 3 thin coats (as swatched below), and it can also be used over a similarly colored base.

Sindie POP Lacquer: Mr. Duck

I have a series of swatches to present to you over the next week or so. I'm honored to have been chosen to swatch and review a few of the permanent polishes from an up and coming indie brand: Sindie POP Lacquer brought to you by Jessica D. This first polish was actually on my wish list for quite some time, and Jessica was sweet enough to send it over:

Mr. Duck by Sindie POP! Lacquer

Mr. Duck, inspired by the ever so lovable Disney character, Donald Duck, contains medium red hexes and small gold and white hex glitters in a beautiful blue to turquoise shimmer (almost metallic looking) base. The formula of this polish was great, and I was definitely very impressed. 

Keep in mind that indies are hand made with each batch and glitter settling can occur, a factor that can sometimes make or break it with me (but that's just my personal preference). I had a couple of instances where the polish arrived with all of the glitters settled at the bottom of the bottle. My previous experience with other glitter containing polishes with colored bases (and even plain glitter toppers) have disappointed me in how difficult it is to resuspend the glitters in their bases prior to use, but this polish was definitely NOT one of them. Not only were the contents of this (and that of the others I received) still evenly distributed, but each brush stroke was packed full of the glittery contents that this polish contained.

Frankenstine Polish Forrest Gump Collection, Part 2

I give you Part 2 of swatches from the Forrest Gump collection by Frankenstine Polish. Let's start with:

Bubba Gump Shrimp by Frankenstine Polish

Bubba Gump Shrimp, inspired by the seafood restaurant in the film, is a glitter combo of medium blue hexes, small red hexes, blue and red microglitter, and white bar glitter in a light pink base that has a subtle gold shimmer. To illustrate the versatility of this polish, I've swatched it both alone and over a coral base (OPI I Eat Maine-ly Lobster):

Jen-nay by Frankenstine Polish

Jen-nay, named after Forrest's childhood friend, is a glitter topper containing small pink holo glitter, yellow flower glitters, and blue-green/teal-ish holo bar glitters in a clear base. I love the girly-ness that is this polish, and I decided to layer this over Essie Play Date:

There was some curling with the flower glitters, but the usual fix (a good coat of Seche Vite) worked fine.

Forrest Gump by Frankenstine Polish

Forrest Gump, whose inspiration is self-explanatory, is a combination of medium periwinkle and navy blue hexes, medium and small white squares, and blue microglitters in a color shift base (to blue). The following swatches shows Forrest Gump over OPI Black Onyx and alone:
